Make this two tone woodland acorn

A chestnut cap contrasts with the golden nut in this compact acorn. Unlike the larger existing Golden Acorn artwork, this simplified chart is designed to fit a small square pegboard.

15 × 19 cells · 187 beads · 4 colors. The layout fits within one square 29 × 29 pegboard. With a nominal 5 mm bead pitch, the grid footprint is about 7.5 × 9.5 cm before fusing; check your own board and bead system.

Every preview and chart below is rendered from the same editable matrix. Colors are digital approximations, not verified Perler, Hama or Artkal product codes. Choose the closest physical colors in your own compatible bead range.

Materials and method

Gather the beads listed above, one compatible square pegboard, manufacturer-approved ironing paper and an iron for adult use. Optional magnets or ribbons are added only after cooling; this flat chart does not include a stand or name-card holder.

  1. Sort the colors using the numbered key. Empty chart cells mean no bead.
  2. Count from the top-left corner and place beads row by row, keeping the pegboard flat.
  3. Start at the cap and check that the narrowing bottom stays centered.
  4. Ask an adult to fuse the design following the bead manufacturer’s instructions. Use ironing paper, never direct iron contact, and allow the piece to cool fully before handling.

Safety: small beads are a choking hazard. Keep away from children under 3 and supervise children using craft materials. Hot irons and fused plastic must be handled by an adult.

If the pattern is hard to follow

Use the numbered PNG chart rather than the clean silhouette. Keep the print option at a readable size: the browser sheet is a counting chart, not a guaranteed life-size pegboard overlay. If an edge bends after fusing, review your bead maker’s heating and cooling guidance instead of increasing heat blindly.

The source grid is checked for one orthogonally connected piece and exact color counts. It has not been physically test-fused; delicate points may still require care.
